Unnao rape case

The car accident took place on Sunday when the Unnao rape victim was on her way to Rae Bareli. A truck rammed into the vehicle in which the girl was travelling with her two aunts and lawyer. While her aunts succumbed to injuries, she and her lawyer were grievously injured.

On Sunday, the victim, while on her way to Rai Bareilly along with her two aunts and her lawyer, met with an accident after a truck rammed into her vehicle. While her aunts died, the rape survivor and her lawyer suffered grievous injuries.

Legislator Kuldeep Singh Sengar is the prime accused in the rape of the minor girl two years ago in Unnao and was arrested by the CBI in April last year.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had filed a charge sheet against Sengar in July last year and booked him under Sections 120B, 363, 366, 376(1), 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and also under relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO) Act.

After the news of accident spread, Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav alleged that it could be a conspiracy to kill her and demanded a CBI probe into the incident.

The woman was on her way to meet her uncle Mahesh Singh, who is lodged in Rae Bareli jail. The woman has alleged that she was raped by the BJP MLA at his residence in June 2017. Her father was booked by the police for illegal possession of firearms and put in jail in April 2018 after her family filed a case against the BJP MLA.
