New Delhi: According to a recent report, Apple is hard at work trying to resolve a puzzling and serious battery issue that was discovered in the most recent version of the operating system for its Watch.
It seems that the problem is associated with the WatchOS 10.1 update, which was released at the end of October for Apple Watch Series 4 and subsequent models.
Users have complained in many online communities, including Apple’s own help sites, that the battery life of their Watches is deteriorating at an alarming rate.
Even the Apple Watch Ultra, which has a bigger casing and battery and is designed to operate for up to 36 hours, is reportedly burning up all its power in three hours, according to reports from certain users. This is even though the watch is designed to function for up to 36 hours.
It looks like the problem is exclusive to the most recent upgrade, which is numbered WatchOS 10.1. That came in late October and brought about adjustments, one of which was the inclusion of the function that serves as the highlight of the new Apple Watch. After downloading the update, some Apple Watch 9 and earlier owners have claimed that their devices’ batteries are draining faster than usual.
Apple says that an issue with watchOS 10.1 that caused some Apple Watch batteries to drain excessively quickly, is to be fixed in an update that is coming soon. By @WGallagher

MacRumors claims to have obtained a copy of an internal document stating that the business is now working on an update that will if everything goes well, rectify the issues. Apple has not confirmed in a public statement that it is working on the upgrade, nor has it provided a possible release date.
Apple seems to have already begun working on a solution to at least some of the issues. It was reported that “increased power consumption” had been corrected in the recently launched iOS 17.1 update for the iPhone, yet the problem still persists.
WatchOS 10.2 is presently under testing at Apple and may not be available for many more months. When it comes to fixing bugs and other issues, like the phantom battery drain, the business does sometimes provide smaller and less significant updates.
The watchOS 10.1.1 update is set to solve the battery consumption issue that some Apple Watch users have experienced since the watchOS 10.1 update. This fix will come before the release of watchOS 10.2, which is expected in December. #Apple #WatchOS #MondayMood #AppleWatch pic.twitter.com/8xqR1UbmF8

Even while the root cause of the problem is still unknown, it seems that Apple is already hard at work investigating the matter and developing a solution.
There is a possibility that some applications are to blame for this problem. Some users claimed that removing the application MobyFace — which lets consumers modify their watch faces – helped halt the battery depletion.
For all the Apple Watch users out there who may be experiencing stupid battery drain it doesn’t appear to be a 10.1 update issue alone it’s the update paired with the MobyFace app. Delete the MobyFace app and you should be good.

There have been instances when certain applications have rendered Apple devices unusable, perhaps due to incompatibilities between the app and the device’s operating system. Last month, for example, Apple stated that at least some of the problems were with Instagram, but it was also able to solve some of those concerns with a software update in response to numerous complaints that the new iPhone 15 phones were growing hotter than intended.

My @Apple watch series 5 battery performance dropped substantially after installing watchOS 10.1. Anyone else facing this? @Apple can you help?
Is this similar to a past issue with an iOS designed to drain iPhone batteries quicker, pushing people to buy new phones?
