Chess Olympiad 2022: India wins two bronze medals
India B won a bronze medal in the open section, while India A won a bronze in the women's section.
Gukesh scored 9/11 with 8 consecutive victories to lead India B to a podium finish.
Tania Sachdev was unbeaten for the first 10 rounds. She end up scoring 8/11 and was pivotal in the victory.
Medal winning India B team had Gukesh, R Praggnanandhaa, Raunak Sadhwani, Nihal Sarin and B Adhiban.
The medal winning India A team included Koneru Humpy, Tania Sachdev, Harika Dronavalli, R Vaishali and Bhakti Kulkarni.
Harika played the tournament after being more than 7 months pregnant.
After Gukesh the 2700 mark in live ratings recently, it was Arjun Erigaisi who breached the mark in the final round of the Olympiad.
