New Delhi: India vs Sri Lanka, the final league match of ICC World Cup 2019, turned out to be one-sided match with Lankans easily giving in to the Men in Blue. Team India dominated the game from beginning, with bowlers decimating the Sri Lanka batting line-up in the first innings, however Mathews’ century helped the team put up a moderate total of 264 runs.

In response, the batting duo of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul tamed the Sri Lanka bowling since the beginning of second innings. Both scored quick century, making the run chase of 265 runs very easy.

India reached the target of 265 runs in just 44 overs. India defeated the Sri Lankans by 7 wickets and with 39 balls remaining.

Sri Lanka had nothing much to gain in today’s encounter but they could have queered India’s pitch by breaking the momentum but were unable to do so.

Virat Kohli-led side are currently placed second in the tournament standings with 13 points from eight matches.
