New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is currently on China visit, again made his country look like a laughing stock in front of the global audience. Call his ignorance, arrogance or simply his lack of awareness, the Pakistani PM’s conduct in Beijing is being derided and looked down upon as inexperienced, non-sensible leader. While introducing Pakistan’s delegation to Beijing by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Imran left the latter unattended and was seen standing aloof. It was only after Pak Army chief General Bajwa gestured, the Pak PM moved ahead and accompanied the Chinese premier.

According to existing diplomatic protocol, Imran should have accompanied the Chinese PM while he was meeting Pakistani officials. But, Imran failed to understand and stood behind.

The situation was that when Chinese Premier Li Keqiang was joining hands with the Pakistani delegation, Imran Khan was not next to him. In view of this blatant situation, Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa also pointed to Imran. But Imran still did not understand. This video of Imran’s imprudence is getting viral on social media.

Prime Minister Khan was received by the Chinese Minister for Culture Luo Shugang, Ambassador of China to Pakistan Yao Jing and the Pakistan officials.

Imran has held his position many times before. He had been sitting in the presence of US President Donald Trump earlier, while all other heads of state were getting up to greet him.

This is the situation when Imran has visited China for the third time after becoming the Prime Minister. The President of China is visiting India on 11 October. In such a situation, this visit to Imran becomes even more important. But Imran’s immaturity has already made the atmosphere gritty.

Well, this is not the first time that he has failed to understand the protocol. Earlier, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan broke the diplomatic protocol at the opening ceremony of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit held in Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek.

In a video shared on the official Twitter handle of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Khan is seen sitting while everyone else stood to welcome the head of states entering the hall. Upon realizing that he was perhaps the only one seated, he stood briefly and then seated himself again before the others did.

Khan earlier broke the diplomatic protocol at the 14th OIC summit held in Saudi Arabia earlier this month.
