New Delhi: Hartalika Teej, is considered to be the day of Lord Bholenath and Mother Parwati. On this day married women keeps a day long fast and offer prayers to Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati and pray for their husband’s long and healthy life.

Haritalika Teej is known as Badi Teej. Every year, , Hartalika Teej or Badi Teej vrat is observed on the Tritiya Tithi, Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada.

Also, the term ‘teej’ is derived from the word ‘Tritiya’, which means ‘third’.

According to Drik Panchang, this year the festival of Hartalika Teej will be celebrated on August 30 by all the married women in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi-NCR and other places.
