Full-page advertisement on Sharad Pawar’s birthday by Reliance: Here is how Twitterati reacted

New Delhi: Sharad Pawar, a veteran politician and NCP supremo turned 80 on Saturday. Reliance Industries has given a full-page advertisement on the front page of the Lokmat newspaper.

This comes at a time when the Modi government who is often accused on behalf of the Congress that this government is filling the pockets of people like Ambani and Adani by withdrawing money from the poor.

One of the user wrote, “On the birthday of Sharad Pawar, a full page advertisement has been given by Reliance, so is Rahul Gandhi ji the Ambani government in Maharashtra?”

Pawar, who was born on December 12, 1940, in Maharashtra’s Baramati, has a political career spanning over 50 years. In 1967, he was elected a member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Baramati constituency on a Congress ticket and has been in public service since then.

However, in 1999, he broke ties with Congress to form the Nationalist Congress Party. He had also served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and held several key ministerial portfolios at the Centre.
