Delhi district authority has added posh Bengali Market to the list of hotspots to be sealed to contain the spread of novel coronavirus in New Delhi.

Earlier the Delhi government had announced that it had identified a list of 20 areas that will be put under complete lockdown as part of the nationwide cluster containment strategy.

However, the authorities were forced to add the 21st area Bengali Market to the list after three cases of novel coronavirus emerged from the area.

In a circular issued by New Delhi DM Tanvi Garg, it has been said that after the three cases were found positive, the administration conducted a house to house survey and screened over 2,000 people. At least two people, living in quarters above the market, were found to be symptomatic.
