New Delhi: Owing to sudden spike in Coronavirus cases, Ahmedabad in Gujarat has imposed night curfew from 9 PM to 6 PM. The night curfew will come into effect from Friday and will stay till further orders from city administration.
Officials have attributed sudden surge in Covid-19 cases to festive season, however they insist that there are enough hospital beds to accommodate Covid-19 patients.
Ahmedabad district in Gujarat reported 220 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, taking its tally to 46,022, the state health department said.
Number of new coronavirus infections in the country have jumped 18% with 45,576 cases recorded in last 24 hours, according to official data.
31 employees at Indore jewellery shop test Corona +ve
At least 31 employees of a jewellery shop in Indore tested positive for COVID-19.
“Out of the 31 employees, 20 had tested positive yesterday while the remaining 11 employees tested positive for COVID-19 today,” said Additional Collector Ajay Dev Sharma
“After getting 31 positive cases, the showroom owner has been instructed to shut down and sanitize the showroom for seven days. The municipal team has also reached the spot for cleaning. The customers who recently visited the showroom will also be tested,” said Additional Collector Ajay Dev Sharma.
The district administration and health department have closed the jewellery showroom for sanitisation.
“This showroom has been shut for seven days for sanitization according to collector’s instructions,” he added.
