Alia Bhatt slammed for promoting chocolate, soft drink ads despite not having sugar herself

New Delhi: The Gangubai Kathiawadi actress, Alia Bhatt is on the receiving end of endorsements that directly oppose her personal practice. Today, a Twitter page, Filmy Puloa shared a video showing Alia’s endorsement of chocolates, soft drink ads opposing her personal health practice. Once, during the promotion of her film Kalank on the Kapil Sharma show stated that she doesn’t eat sugar.

On the show, she revealed that the individual who handed her tea said there was sugar in the tea. The actress refused the tea and explained how sugar is not good for health. She stressed that one must have sugar in the form of fruits. She also stated how she doesn’t consume sugar herself. However, Frooti, Coca Cola, Cornetto, Dark Fantasy Choco Fills, Perk – are all not the fruit that she endorsed at different points in time.

This has made netizens pull out their creative side to slam the actress. One of the users stated, “This ad made me realise literally har cheez ki ad alia bhatt hi kar rahi hai,” while another stated, “In today’s time when we have all the information at our fingertips and fir bhi log in actors se influence hokar apni dietary ya koi bhi life ke decisions lete hai wo sabse bade bewakoof hain.”

Earlier, Akshay Kumar who recently featured in Vimal product’s advertisement came under strict criticism. Following this, he has withdraw himself from the endorsement and also issued a public apology. He shared his apology note on Instagram, stating, “I am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi. With all humility, I step back. I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause.”
