#BoycottJersey: Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming sports drama in yet another trouble

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is all set to entertain the Hindi audiences once again with his sports drama ‘Jersey’. The film has already knocked in theaters today i.e. on Friday.

Shahid’s fans and movie enthusiasts have been waiting for the release for the  film since its trailer release. Under this much anticipation, whether the film lives up to the expectations of the people or not, that conclusion surely lies in the hands of the future.

However, for now, the film seems to be landing into a fresh controversy.

Prior to its release, the film was caught in a legal dispute, and now Gowtam Tinnanuri directorial is facing public criticism on social media.

Since the release of the film, a section of Netizens is demanding to boycott the Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer movie. #BoycottJersey has been in top trends on microblogging site Twitter since Thursday.

The reason behind this trend is Shahid Kapoor making fun of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Netizens wrote that Shahid Kapoor was the one who insulted the late actor at the IIFA Awards.

Meanwhile, some are demanding to boycott the entire Hindi cinema i.e. Bollywood itself.

Talking about the film, Jersey is a sports drama film, in which Shahid Kapoor plays the role of a cricketer named Arjun Talwar. Along with Shahid, actress Mrunal Thakur will also be seen in the lead role.
