New Delhi: It was a rare & memorable moment for Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari as he took a sortie on Rafale fighter jets, accompanied by his son & Squadron Leader Mihir V Chaudhari.
The IAF said in a statement that Chief of Air Staff was on a visit to IAF’s Eastern AOR, where he took a sortie on Rafale aircraft as part of 3 aircraft combat training mission at Air Force Station Hasimara.
“The sortie flown by CAS and his son is a continuation of the finest traditions of the IAF and underlines the importance accorded to grooming and preparing our young leaders for the challenges of the future,” IAF said in a statement.
#CAS reviewed and appreciated the operational preparedness of the airbase and interacted with the personnel stationed there. He urged the personnel to continue their efforts in safeguarding the Nation’s skies at all times (3/3).

The IAF further said that Air Chief Marshal reviewed the operational preparedness of the particular airbase and exhorted the armed force personnel to stay prepared for all kind of roles in safeguarding nation’s priorities.
The IAF chief, had last month, underlined the need for upgradation of training patter of training pattern of military officers in wake of emerging challenges.
The IAF chief also noted that to prepare a military officer for a future war, technology, training and education are paramount.
“In such a scenario, there is an evolving need to upgrade and fine-tune our education and training pattern,” the IAF chief said.
