As Nitish dumps BJP, Lalu’s daughter tweets VIDEO, saying… ‘aa rahein hain Lantern-Dhari’

New Delhi: With BJP and JD (U) heading for divorce after running coalition government for 2 years, there is celebration in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) camp. As Tejashwi Yadav-led RJD is set to become part of the government with reports of him becoming Deputy CM again, there is palpable excitement in the party ranks and file.

Today, Lalu Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya tweeted a music video, which captures & reflects the celebratory mood of RJD camp.

In the music video, a singer can be seen crooning ‘Raj-Tilak ki Karo Tayyari, Aa Rahein Hain Lantern-Dhari’.
Notably, lantern is the election symbol of Lalu Yadav’s RJD.


The departure of Nitish Kumar from NDA fold was being speculated by political pundits, given the fissures & differences in BJP-JD(U) leadership on various issues since government formation. Today, the JD(U) decided to call it quits and has taken an appointment with Bihar governor.

RJD leaders are likely to accompany Nitish Kumar as he goes to meet Governor today at 4.30 PM. Earlier also, top RJD leadership tried to hobnob with Nitish Kumar as its top leader said that party was ready to embrace Nitish Kumar if he was ready to fight divisive agenda of BJP.

The Congress party has also offered support to Nitish Kumar led alliance. It held a meeting of its legislature party on August 8 and took pledge to support Nitish if he snaps ties with BJP. The Bihar CM is likely to submit letters of RJD, Congress and Left, expressing their support for the incumbent CM.

The 243 member Bihar Assembly is dominated by RJD which has largest 79 legislators while BJP is the second largest party with 77 MLAs. JD(U) is the third largest party with 43 MLAs. Others with considerable strength are Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha & Left parties.
