New Delhi: Ahead of the party’s foundation day on April 6, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched saffron-colored caps for all its MPs and workers. The BJP leaders will now be seen donning the newly introduced cap, which was first worn by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a roadshow in Ahmedabad last month.

Pictures of the attention-grabbing cap were also shared on multiple social media platforms by various party leaders on Tuesday.

All BJP MPs in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha were seen wearing the caps today as PM Modi and other leaders reached the Ambedkar International Centre for a Parliamentary party meeting. Senior BJP leader and MP Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Prahlad Joshi were spotted wearing the newly launched headgears.

According to sources, the party has asked its all parliamentarians and senior leaders to wear the cap in the public. The saffron-colored headgears are expected to become the identity of BJP workers in the coming days.

The sleek designed cap is said to have been reviewed multiple times before approving for the final one. The fashionable cap has a thin embroidery on it along with a plastic ‘Lotus’ pinned on it marking the party’s election symbol.

The cap seems to be inspired by the headgears that are generally worn in the hill state Uttarakhand, while the Brahm Kamal that PM Modi had wore on the last Republic Day. Also, the word Bhajap (Gujarati) has been inscribed on the cap. The cap has a lotus pinned to it at the centre, being the symbol of the BJP.

If reports are to be believed, the caps distributed to the MPs have been prepared by Gujarat BJP.
