New Delhi: A blaze broke out at Delhi Transport Department (DTC) office near the Civil Lines metro station. Eight fire tenders were rushed to douse the fire.
All the documents related to DTC were gutted in the fire, said Sunil Chaudhary, Deputy chief fire officer. The cause of the fire is not known yet, though probe has been launched to identify the reason behind, said officials.
The timing of fire in DTC office has led to a series of speculations and allegations. The opposition pointed direct fingers at the Kejriwal government for the inferno while others hinted at ‘greater design’ behind the fire to cover-up the misdeeds of current dispensation.
Opposition trains gun at AAP govt
Soon after the fire at DTC office, which is under state govt control, both BJP and Congress alleged that this was blatant attempt by the AAP government to wipe out evidence of the scam. The loss of crucial documents in the fire is nothing but a cover-up by the Kejriwal govt to escape accountability and an attempt to ‘befool the public’.

‘Facing ouster, AAP setting files on fire’
Congress launched a frontal attack on AAP and claimed that since Kejriwal govt is anticipating ouster from power this time, the party workers are indulging in dirty games.

Kapil Mishra, a former minister in Kejriwal govt, said the Transport department has been the most corrupt department and this fire was nothing but an attempt to save the culprits by destroying the incriminating documents.
