New Delhi: 15 May marks the death anniversary of the country’s first Army Chief Kodandera Madappa Cariappa. Field Marshal Sir Kodandera “Kipper” Madappa Cariappa was the first officer of the Indian Army to hold a five-star rank. He had led his troops in the World War II and the first Indo-Pak war of 1947. He received military training during World War I (1914-18).
From the leaders to the common man, all are paying tribute to the first Army Chief Kodandera Madappa Cariappa but Congress who is now famous for getting trolled over their mistakes.
Congress tweeted Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw instead of Field Marshal Kariappa on his death anniversary.
The Tweet said, “Field Marshal Kodandera Madappa Cariappa OBE was the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army and the first Indian to command a battalion. On his death anniversary, we thank him for his valour and leadership during the all-important Indo-Pakistan War of 1947.

This is how social media reacted to this blunder:
Not knowing national icons is one thing, doesn't the person handling @INCIndia page even know how to read English? Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw's name is written crystal clear on the name badge. How ridiculous. pic.twitter.com/IrcAK5j6ps

Congress doesn’t know the difference between KM Cariappa & Sam Manekshaw.
Maybe they could have read his name badge at least? pic.twitter.com/sGVieTXRI5
