Don’t appreciate Digvijaya’s views on surgical strikes, says Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: Digvijaya Singh, facing the heat over raising questions on surgical strikes by Indian Army, failed to find any favour within the party as his once ‘protége’ Rahul Gandhi clearly stated that his views are ‘outlying opinion’.

Brushing aside Digvijaya’s statement on surgical strikes across the Line of Control (LoC), Rahul Gandhi said that these are his personal views and party doesn’t concur with his personal opinion.

Dubbing Digvijaya’s opinion as ‘outlying views’, Rahul said that Congress party has an internal forum where opinion on any issue is formed by discussion and not by any dictatorship.

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, while joining Rahul & ‘padyatris’ at the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jammu, raised fresh questions on the surgical strikes by Army.

Slamming the Centre, he said that more than two years have passed but the Centre hasn’t given any report on the same. He also questioned the central government over killing of more than 40 CRPF jawans in 2019 Pulwama terror attack.

Questioning the surgical strikes, Digvijaya said that the Centre claimed that the Armed forces neutralized many terror elements across the border in Balakot airstrikes but where is the proof.

When questioned by scribes at a presser, Rahul Gandhi sought to deflate party’s ‘anti-Army perception’ and said that the Armed Forces perform their job exceptionally well and they need not provide evidence for their valiant acts.
