New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has issued clear instructions for focussed, sustained and proactive approach in paddy procurement. He also said that paddy purchase should be expedited at paddy purchase centres and if needed, extra resources should be deployed.
The Chief Minister has directed top officials including Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates to form a team and inspect the paddy purchase centres regularly.
In relation to the Uttar Pradesh Kaamgaar aur Shramik (Sevayojan evam Rojgaar) set up for economic and social security of workers, CM Yogi also called for regular reviews at district and divisional level.
The Chief Minister issued these instructions, while reviewing works of various departments at a high-level meet convened at his residence.
Creating record man-days under MNREGA
Yogi government is also likely to create record man-days with respect to job creation under Mahatama Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA).
For the year 2020-2021, Union government had approved budget for 26 crore man-days. However, UP has already achieved 32.66 crore man-days by January 8, 2021 and has applied for second revision in target.
UP government has submitted a letter to Rural Development Ministry to approve labour budget of Rs 45 crore man-days.
In Uttar Pradesh, more than 1.85 crore families got work last year as compared to 53 lakh families during 2019-2020.
