New Delhi: Days before the swearing-in of Yogi Adityanath as UP Chief Minister for the second term, a dreaded criminal named Manish Singh has been eliminated by the Special Task Force (STF) of state police.
Manish Singh carried a bounty of Rs 2 lakh on his head and police were on the lookout for him for long. He was cornered by UP STF in Varanasi on Monday and subsequently killed in encounter.
The elimination of dreaded criminal reinforces Yogi government’s zero tolerance against crime and pledge to crack down on corruption, mafia & dons.
Manish Singh was a noted gangster and was involved in many criminal activities. The police got a tip off about his whereabouts, following which STF launched a special operation to nab him from Lohata police station area. When cornered, the gunbattle ensued which resulted in killing of the dreaded gangster.

Manish alias Sonu, was in Most Wanted list
Manish Singh alias Sonu ranked high on the most wanted list of Varanasi police. He was found to be involved in many cases & an accused in many murder cases. Police was tracing his whereabouts for long.
He was a habitual offender & history sheeter. He was lodged in jail for long. Inspite of getting reformed inside prison, he went a step ahead and engaged in organised loot & robbery. He plundered Rs 59 lakh from a bank, with his gang.
