Miracle! New-born declared dead by hospital found alive before burial in J&K’s Ramban

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a new-born baby girl who was declared dead on Monday at Sub District Hospital Banihal in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district  was later found to be alive while the body was being taken for burial by family members.

After this incident, angry family members over the negligence, they staged a demonstration outside the hospital.

Taking this incident seriously, the authorities suspended two hospital employees.

According to the family members, Basharat Ahmed’s wife gave birth to a baby girl at the hospital. After which the hospital staff told them that the baby was stillborn.

Following which the family member took the baby for burial.

At that moment, one of the family member noticed the that the infant was moving and alerted others.

Seeing this, the new born baby was quickly rushed to the hospital, after which the baby was referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment.

Following this incident, SHO Banihal Muneer Khan reached the hospital and assured the protesting family members that the action will be taken.

According to the BMO’s order, the pending inquiry into the alleged death of a new born baby, Sumina begum, junior Staff Nurse and Hajara begum sweeper working in the gynae section of SDH Banihal have been placed under suspension with immediate effect.
