PM Modi talks to Varanasi administration on flood-related situation, assures all possible support

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi had a detailed conversation with the Varanasi administration regarding the flood-related situation in Varanasi. He took stock of the entire situation and assured all possible support.

The water level in River Ganga in Varanasi has crossed the danger mark and is still rising.

The situation is being monitored continuously by the authorities.

As per reports, the water level of Ganga has reached 71.36 metres which are 10cm more than the danger mark of 71.26 metres.

On Monday, the water levels of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers crossed the danger mark in Prayagraj after which the administration announced a high alert.

Following which the evacuation of families affected by floods began.

Also, the Indian Air Force (IAF) had deployed three helicopters for flood relief operations in the Jalaun district of UP.
