New Delhi: Congress party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra got mired in yet another controversy as Rahul Gandhi was on Friday spotted with the ‘cow killer’ Rijil Makutty during the march. As the images landed on social media, it prompted sharp reactions from many quarters. BJP fired fresh salvo at Rahul Gandhi and called out party over its Hindu hatred.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) shared the images of cow killer Rijil Makutty walking along with Rahul Gandhi. In 2017, the youth Congress leader Rijil Makutty had slaughtered a calf in broad daylight in protest against the beef ban.

Lashing out at the Congress party, the BJP said that the party was unabashedly flaunting its hatred for Hindus.
“Rijil Makutty, a man who butchered a calf on street in broad daylight is companion of Rahul Gandhi in Bharat Jodo Yatra,” BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya tweeted.

Rijil Makutty faced the axe from party in 2017 after he posted a video of publicly slaughtering a cow to protest against the Centre’s decision to ban beef. The party received lot of angry reactions from BJP, RSS, VHP & other Hintuva outfits who demanded that party expels him for brutality on cow.

The incident also drew condemnation from Rahul. He had termed the incident ‘barbaric’.

This is not the first controversy that Rahul got embroiled in during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Earlier this month, he met controversial Tamil pastor George Ponnaiah drawing protests from the right wing outfits. A video of their interaction landed & went viral on social media in which the pastor was heard saying ‘Jesus is the real god…not like shakti.’
