New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra had a special member in its second leg as it entered the Hindi heartland of Uttar Pradesh.
The nation-wide yatra, aimed at invigorating fresh energy & vitality into the party cadre, resumed its journey from Mavikala in Baghpat district of UP on Wednesday. It is then Faisal Chowdhury, who bears striking similarity with Rahul Gandhi in physical appearance joined the march and was captured by the TV cameras.
Faisal Chowdhury is a party worker from Meerut district. As the photos & videos of Rahul’s look-alike surfaced on the internet, it drew many reactions from the netizens.
Rahul’s Padytra in the Hindi heartland has been making many news, for feel-good factors as well as controversies.
Rahul-Priyanka’s public display of sibling love received lot of admiration from workers & supporters but his pictures with former R&AW drew strong reactions from rival parties.

Farooq Abdullah & Mehbooba Mufti welcomed Rahul’s padyatra in UP but the same was mocked by the BJP. At the beginning of UP leg of Yatra, Priyanka Gandhi heaped praises on Rahul Gandhi and also threw an open challenge to any party/businessman to buy him. She also said that the govt attempted many coercive measures to bring bad press to Congress march but all that failed & will continue to do so.
The Congress Padyatra will continue in Uttar Pradesh for 3 days before re-entering Haryana on January 6. Priyanka Gandhi will continue to accompany Rahul during the UP leg of Padyatra.
The 3,500 km long yatra, which kicked off on September 7 from Kanyakumari has covered most Southern states and will culminate in Jammu & Kashmir.
