New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his Uttar Pradesh visit today, inaugurated much awaited  Bundelkhand Expressway in Jalaun. The newly constructed 296-kilometres-long expressway connects Chitrakoot with the Lucknow-Agra Expressway.

Interestingly, the foundation stone for the project was laid by PM Modi in February 2020 and was built in a rapid fast 28 months of time period only.

During his address to the public during the inauguration ceremony, PM claimed that the expressway will not just make travel easy for the commuters but will also bring prosperity in the region.

However, what drew overwhelming attention to PM’s address on social media was a remark made by him on the freebie politics in the country.

Here’s what PM said:

PM said that several efforts are being made to bring in the culture of collecting votes by distributing ‘free revdi’ in our country.

“This Rewari culture is dangerous for the development of the country.  Those with Rewari culture will never build new expressways, new airports or defence corridors for you.  Together we have to defeat this mentality, remove Revdi culture from the politics of the country,” said the PM.
