New Delhi: Sanjay Jadhav, a Shiv Sena Lok Sabha MP from Parbhani in Maharashtra on Wednesday made a surprise announcement that he was quitting his position.
Popularly known as ‘Bandu’, Jadhav sent his resignation letter to party President and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, alleging the party was being sidelined in his home constituency.
According to reports, Jadhav claimed in his letter to Thackeray that Sena activists were being sidelined and dominated upon by the ruling ally Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) despite the fact that Sena was ruling the state.
Further in the letter, Sanjay Jadhav reportedly wrote, “I am Shiv Sainik of Balasaheb Thackeray. If I am not able to ensure justice for party workers, then how can I justify my position. I have no moral right to remain on the post. Please accept my resignation.”
Those from Shiv Sena declined to comment on the issue but said that any final decision in the matter will be taken only by Thackeray.
