UP by-polls: Yogi Adityanth lashes out at Opposition, says BJP govt freed Western UP from mafia dons

UP by-polls: CM Yogi, addressing a poll rally, said that western part of the state has now been freed from the clutches of mafia elements and goons. Their properties are being demolished and they have no place left to hide themselves.

Yogi Adityanath --

New Delhi: Hitting the campaign trail for Assembly by-polls in Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath on Thursday lashed out at the Opposition parties and claimed that it’s because of the strong resolve of BJP government, Western UP has been freed from mafia dons, hooligans and ruffians.

“It is the same mafia which was being harboured by the opposition parties and now they are on the run begging for their lives,’’ he said while addressing the public meetings in UP by polls in the assembly constituencies of Bulandshahr , Amroha and Tundla.

CM Yogi said that the western part of the state has now been freed from the clutches of mafia elements and goons. Their properties are being demolished and they have no place left to hide themselves.

CM also listed out measures of state govt on how it is working to transform Uttar Pradesh into `Uttam Pradesh’.

“Not only the dues of sugarcane farmers are being cleared, the sugar mills that were shut down during previous governments are operating with full capacity and productivity,” said CM Yogi.

Yogi also took the opportunity to take potshots at Rahul Gandhi for being sympathetic towards PFI, a radical outfit.

“He (Rahul Gandhi) openly meets members of the Popular Front of India (PFI). This clearly reflects his mentality towards anti-national elements,” he said.

“This is the same PFI which has plans to instigate a series of riots in the country and those doing politics in the name of religion are trying to disturb the communal harmony of the country,” he added.

Recalling the contributions of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, CM Yogi said that he was the true crusader of farmers’ rights and well-being.

He called upon the people to give befitting reply to those, who prioritize caste and religion over development. He blamed the opposition for building a lopsided narrative which resulted into Muzaffarnagar riots, exodus of businessmen and traders from Kandhla and Kairana and killings of innocent youth like Sachin and Gaurav.

The Chief Minister also announced to set up a university in Aligarh in the name of Maharaja Mahendra Singh while lamenting the fact that the person who donated all his property for Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been totally neglected.
