UP madrasas to undergo makeover this I-Day, mega plans for Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations

New Delhi: As the nation marks the completion of 75 years of Independence, Yogi government has laid out elaborate plans for its celebration in madrasas as well. The minority institutions will wear a patriotic look and will exude an environment of nationalist fervour.

As part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Centre has already pushed in motion, its ambitious plan to hoist/display national flag in homes and is targeting at least 20 crore households to become part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

Uttar Pradesh is also gearing up to make the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign a roaring success. The state govt has sought co-operation of the state agencies & NGOs in taking down the message that every household joins this national festival.

The Yogi government has also outlined roadmap for celebration for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at madrasas & other minority institutions of the state. The state administration has directed all the madrasas to hoist the national flag on August 15 and also dedicate a special week for the celebrations, reported a leading daily.

The madrasas have also been directed to play patriotic songs, hold exhibitions and competitions, from August 11 to August 17, to mark 75 years of Independence, it said.

The state has a total number of about 8,000 madrasas, privately run as well as govt sponsored. There are 560 madras which are fully government funded.

‘Independence Week’ to instill patriotism

The state government is making elaborate efforts to celebrate the national festival for the entire week. Under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, people are already being encouraged to display the Tricolour inside their homes.

Going a step further, the state administration has planned to create a ‘week of nationalist fervour’ to mark the occasion. Under this, special initiatives have been planned to unite people & promote their participation in Independence awareness programs. The messages will be relayed via social media, radio and television to maximize their participation.

A special ‘Tiranga selfie’ initiative has also been planned under which people will be encouraged to click selfies. The best selfie will also be rewarded later.
