New Delhi: In Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh, a Muslim family sends a good message to society by helping the family of a Hindu girl on the day of marriage. Reportedly, the girl lost her father in the first wave of COVID-19. The family members of the girl were unable to arrange any marriage hall due to a lack of funds.

The marriage of the girl, Pooja was fixed for April 22. The maternal uncle of Pooja, who lives in a small house in the Aliwal locality of Azamgarh, said we do not have enough space at our house to hold the marriage house. Owing to this they reached out to their Muslim neighbour for help at the very last moment.

He added, ”When I talked our neighbour pravez about it, he offered to hold the marriage in the courtyard of his house, without any hesitation.”

The family of Parvez helped Rajesh and his family to set up the mandap. They helped Pooja’s family to complete all the ceremonies in their courtyard.

According to media reports, the woman in Pravez’s family also sang wedding songs during the occasion.

Talking about Pooja, Parvez’s wife Nadira said, ”Pooja is like my daughter. We are in the holy month of Ramzan so what can be better than organising the marriage of a daughter.”

Nadira also said we treat the bride and her family as family members. We have a good mutual understanding.

”Our faiths are different but as humans, it is our duty to ensure the happiness of our daughters, it comes before everything. We did only the right thing, ” Nadira said.
