New Delhi: Ever since Swedish furniture retailer Ikea unroll their first outlet in Bengaluru on June 22, hundreds of residents are turning up in the store and the footfall only seems to go up with each passing day.

The outlet, which is located in the Nagasandra region of the city has been witnessing long, never-ending queues of customers ever since the opening of the store here. The crowd further got meandering at the weekends.

By the evening time in weekends, the footfall gets too high that the security of the outlet finds it hard to manage the massive crowd. On Sunday evening, the store was so packed that it had to make an announcement on the microblogging site Twitter, asking the customers to plan their visit to the store keeping a 3-hour-long waiting duration in mind or opt to shop online.

“Bengaluru, we are overwhelmed by your response. The current wait time at the Nagasandra store is 3 hours. Please plan accordingly or shop online”, Ikea India wrote on its official handle.

The pics and video clips of those waiting outside the Ikea store are flooding Twitter, drawing hilarious meme fest online.

Industrialist Harsh Goenka shared a video from his Twitter handle and wrote, “It’s not MLAs queuing in Maharashtra to form government, It’s not an immigration queue to enter our country, It’s not a vaccination queue to avoid Covid wave, It’s not pilgrims queueing in Tirupati for darshan, It’s the opening of IKEA store in Bangalore!”.

Here’s a look at some humorous takes by Netizens on Ikea store queues:
