WATCH: Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury holds cop by his collar during protest in Telangana

New Delhi: A video of senior Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury has surfaced online which shows the latter holding the collars of police personnel while being taken into custody on Thursday.

The incident occurred during the grand old party’s protest in Hyderabad over Enforcement Directorate’s summons to former party chief and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi.

Apart from Delhi, the Congress party has conducted protests in various parts across the country including Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan.

The protests are been held over ED quizzing its top leader Rahul Gandhi for last three days in the National Herald case.

However, Congress’s ‘Satyagraha’ in Hyderabad intenfied as its workers along with several top leader march towards Raj Bhavan. What started as a peaceful protest turned violent as party workers reportedly torched buses and other vehicles.

Notably, Rahul Gandhi has been asked to re-join ED’s probe in the matter on Friday in connection with the National Herald case. He had left the ED office at PM on Wednesday, while the central agency has been keep up with its questioning for past 3 days.

The Congress leader left the ED office after 9 pm on Wednesday.
