New Delhi: Deepika Pushkar Nath, Jammu and Kashmir Congress spokesperson today resigned from the party on ideological grounds.
She said she took the to “allow” former minister Lal Singh to join the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra which is set to enter the Union territory later this week.
She said Ch.Lal Singh was responsible for sabotaging the Kathua rape case in 2018 by brazenly defending rapists.
Nath said she had no other option but to resign from the party.
She also said that Lal Singh divided the entire region of Jammu & Kashmir to protect the rapists.

Meanwhile, Ex-min Lal Singh joining Bharat Jodo Yatra said he doesn’t know who is she. He also said that such deliberately resign to run their business.

On January 19, Bharat Jodo Yatra will enter Jammu and Kashmir where Farooq Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, MY Tarigami, Omar Abdullah Sanjay Raut is set to join the yatra at different locations.
Who is Deepika Pushkar Nath?
She is a lawyer by profession. Deepika Pushkar Nath was the one who took the parents of the Kathua rape to the high court at Jammu for monitoring of the investigation.
She was also the one who guided them to approach the Supreme Court to seek a trial in Pathankot (Punjab).
Kathua Gangrape Case
In January 2018, an eight-year-old girl was kidnapped from J&K’s Kathua village and was confined in a small local temple, drugged, starved and was repeatedly raped for days.
Later she was mercilessly strangled and her head was hit with a rock.
In the Kathua rape case, eight men were arrested.
