New Delhi: Doddalahalli Kempegowda Shivakumar, populary known as DK Shivakumar is all set to take oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka.
He said that the Congress party high command has taken the decision.

According to sources, DK Shivakumar accepted the post of the Deputy Chief Minister following former party president Sonia Gandhi’s intervention.
Meanwhile, Siddaraiamah was chosen for the post of Chief Minister.
Reports said that the official announcement for the post of CM and Deputy CM is likely to be made later this evening after a key meeting of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) in Bengaluru.

On Wednesday (May 17), both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar had met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Party General Secretary KC Venugopal.

Who is DK Shivakumar?
DK Shivakumar is the Karnataka Congress Chief.
He is an eight-time MLA.
There are several cases against him before IT, ED and CBI.
He was also jailed and sevrved jail term in Tihar.
In 1980s, Shivakumar started his career as a student leader.
DK Shivakumar was born on May 15, 1962 in Kanakapura.
He is the son of Doddalahalli Kempe Gowda and Gouramma.
Karnataka Oath Taking Ceremony:
The oath-taking ceremony of Kranataka Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister is scheduled to be held on Saturday (May 20).
