New Delhi: New Delhi: According to a recent story, Apple Watch spotted a rare tumour that may have potentially proved devastating for the user in the US, potentially saving another life. Kim Durkee, according to 9To5Mac, received alerts from her Apple Watch on two separate nights in May that her heart was experiencing atrial fibrillation.
According to the report, she initially believed the wearable was misreading her, but then she received a second warning.
According to Durkee, “the numbers went a little too high for comfort” on the third night.
Then, she continued, “I said, you know what, go to the emergency room if they tell you it’s nothing to worry about, then throw the watch.” It turned revealed to be atrial fibrillation, and an aggressive, unidentified tumour was the culprit.
“Her heart was pounding wildly for a straightforward yet terrifying reason, as soon as confirmed by doctors in Maine. She had a myxoma, a rare, rapidly expanding tumour that was suffocating her heart’s blood supply and was likely to result in a stroke, “added the study.
Doctors transported her to Massachusetts General Hospital as a result of the Apple Watch warnings, where they performed a five-hour open heart surgery to remove the dangerous tumour. According to the article, Durkee did not experience any symptoms save the atrial fibrillation that her Apple Watch detected. If the four-centimeter tumour hadn’t been discovered, it was predicted that she would have “very probably” died.
According to a March report, an Apple Watch that a dentist from Yamunanagar, Haryana, had purchased as a birthday present for his wife and used to save his life.
On his wife’s birthday, Nitesh Chopra, 33, bought an Apple Watch Series 6. His electrocardiogram (ECG) displayed arrhythmia signs, or irregular heartbeats, twice when he checked it on the Watch. He checked himself out at a local hospital since he was feeling uneasy. Following the discovery of a significant blockage during an angiography, experts advised the placement of stents.
