New Delhi: Bihar Diwas is celebrated every year on March 22. This day marks the formation of Bihar from the Bengal Presidency in 1912.
On the occasion of Bihar Diwas, public holiday is observed in the state and several events are organised to celebrate this day.
It was on March 22, 1912 when the state of Bihar was carved out as a separate province through the Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, and Assam Laws Act, 1912.
Earlier, Patliputra, was declared as the capital of the new province.
