New Delhi: Two people died of the H3N2 virus causing influenza in India. One each died in Haryana and Karnataka, said Sources close to Government.
The Government sources also said that over 90 cases of the flu caused by this virus have been reported across the country.
What is the H3N2 virus?
H3N2 is an influenza virus that infects a person’s respiratory infection. Also, it can infect birds and mammals.
H3N2 is a subtype of the Influenza A virus, which is one of the major factors causing human influenza, according to Centres for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
What are the symptoms of the H3N2 Influenza Virus?
According to the WHO, some of the common symptoms of the H3N2 virus are:
- Fever
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
- Chills
- Coughing
- sore throat
- Nausea
- Throat ache
- Ache in the body
- Sneezing
- Runny nose
Apart from these, if an individual is having issues with breathing discomfort or pain in the chest, fever, pain in the throat, or difficulty in swallowing food it is very important for the person to see a doctor.

H3N2 influenza can be transmitted to another person through coughing, sneezing, or in close contact with the infected person.

# Do not spit in public places
# Avoid handshakes or hugs
# Do not take any medicine without consulting the doctor
