Charting a Course for Peace and Stability: Indo-Pacific Peace Forum 2025 Brings Global Leaders Together

Diplomats, Academicians, and Experts Deliberate on Regional Security and Cooperation in New Delhi

The Indo-Pacific Peace Forum International Conference on the theme “Peace and Security in the Indo-Pacific Region: Significance of Ideas and Thoughts,” successfully convened diplomats, policymakers, scholars, and international security experts at the India International Centre, New Delhi. The two-day conference, organized by GPF India and the Indo-Pacific Peace Forum in collaboration with ARSP, Amity University, the Indian Council for International Cooperation, and the Confederation of Indian Universities (IPPF 1.0) 2025, featured profound discussions and strategic deliberations on regional peace and security.
The conference underscored the concept of “Thought Leadership” or the “Power of Ideas” as the cornerstone for fostering future leadership in the Indian subcontinent. The distinguished Governor of Mizoram, (Retd.) General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his keynote address, Dr. Singh highlighted the critical interplay between peace, growth, and security, emphasizing their significance in shaping practical strategies for the development of the Indo-Pacific region. Dr. Singh also invoked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) initiative as a visionary geopolitical framework for maritime cooperation. He stressed that this initiative addresses contemporary concerns such as technological threats, cyber security challenges, and evolving economic paradigms, offering a comprehensive roadmap for regional stability and growth.
In his welcome address, Dr. Markandey Rai, Chairman of GPF India, invoked the ancient Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The World is One Family) as a guiding principle for fostering human unity and cooperation. Dr. Rai emphasized the significance of dialogue and cooperation driven by moral responsibility as essential pillars for regional development and peace.
The conference featured distinguished speakers and experts who participated in insightful panel discussions on key strategic topics, including Geopolitics, Security, and the Economic Landscape, The Role of the Indian Diaspora in Promoting Peace and Security in the Indo-Pacific Region, Maritime Security, Trade, and Transport, The One Korea Campaign and Relevant Peace Initiatives, Prospects for Peace in the Indo-Pacific, and The Blue Economy, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Regional Development.
The event concluded on a powerful note, reinforcing the idea that peace is not merely a distant aspiration but a tangible reality shaped by the everyday actions and initiatives of individuals and communities. The successful conference laid a robust foundation for continued collaboration, fostering ideas that promote peace, security, and sustainable development across the Indo-Pacific region. The conference will continue for it’s day 2 on 20th march, discussing the above topics in different panel sessions. A new Delhi Declaration based will be adopted that will guide the future action plans for promoting peace and security in the indo-pacific region. An advisory committee will be formed to implement the new Delhi declaration post conference.
