DDCA Calls back their Virat Kohli and Rishab Pant for the Ranji Trophy

New Delhi: The Delhi & District Cricket Association are looking to bring their star ‘Delhiwalas‘- Virat Kohli and Rishab Pant back into the domestic circuit in an attempt to strengthen the Delhi side ahead of the Ranji Trophy 2024/25 season. Virat last featured in the Ranji circuit back in 2012, scoring 14 and 42 against Uttar Pradesh.

Kohli and Pant have already been drafted for the upcoming New Zealand Test series. The New Zealand series starts on the 16th of October while Delhi’s first Ranji match against Chattisgarh ends on the 14th of October. Naturally, both Indian cricketers will get ample opportunities to train for the upcoming series if they decide to play for their states in the Ranji Trophy.

Delhi’s Ranji Trophy Squad

The official letter from the DDCA read-

At the Senior Men’s Selection Committee meeting held today, 24th September…The committee has selected the following probables for consideration in the Delhi Men’s Senior Squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy tournament in the 2024-25 domestic season…

The letter had also a list of probable inclusions in the Delhi squad. Below is the full list of players likely to be drafted for the Delhi team-

The letter further had a section which stated that players who would be a part of the national contingent would be given an exemption from the fitness test before the game.

When will Delhi’s campaign begin?

Delhi is scheduled to play the first match against Chattisgarh on the 11th of October. The match will start on the 11th of October and conclude on the 14th of October.
