Although in a relatively easy group, no team can be taken as relative pushovers from the matches fans have witnessed in this year’s T20 World Cup. Furthermore, with a rain threat looming largely over India’s match against Ireland, things might get a bit tricky for the men in blue. T20 World Cup 2024 has already seen the first washout between defending champions England and Scotland.

The “Ro-Ko” factor for Team India
For Team India, all eyes will be on the two talismanic batsmen of Indian cricket- Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, better known as the “Ro-Ko” duo in social media. Kohli is coming to the tournament after a scintillating IPL season where King Kohli has scored more than 700 runs and thereby claimed the orange cap. However, the hitman’s bat has been relatively dormant in this edition of IPL scrapping past the 400 runs mark barely. Nevertheless, everyone knows the immense experience that Sharma brings at the top and his blistering records of the past in T20Is.
When it comes to bowling, all eyes will be on India’s mister “dependable” Jasprit Bumrah and the foxy Kuldeep Yadav whose chinaman will be a matter of concern for the Irish batsmen. To provide depth to the bowling, Ravindra Jadeja and his vast swathes of experience alongside the dynamism of Hardik Pandya will be a key to Team India’s success in this match and the subsequent tournament.
When is the India vs Ireland match?
India will take on Ireland on the 5th of June for their first group-stage encounter which will start at 8:00 pm (IST). Indian fans can tune in to the Star Sports network or live-stream on Disney+Hotstar to watch yet another “Ro-Ko” show live.
