New Delhi: Surya Kumar Yadav-led team India will be having the Aussie challenge, starting Thursday, when the men in blue will start their 5-match T20i series campaign at the Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.
The series is going to be a big one for the teams, as this will officially kick-start their preparation for the upcoming 2024 T20i World Cup in the USA and West Indies.

Indian teams who are building their T20i side with young blood will get good practice and test of strength against a team of the highest level of calibre, like Australia.

Aussies on the other side after being crowned the World Test and ODI Champions in 2023, will try to complete the treble by also winning the T20i World Cup next year, and becoming the first team to hold all the titles of World Champions of all the formats at one time.
The challenge, however, is not going to be easy for either of the sides, which guarantees an action-packed series for the fans.
Stand-in captains for both sides
Both India and Australia have given rest to their regular captains and will be taking the field with stand-in captains.
Surya Kumar Yadav will be seen leading the Indian side, whereas, Mathew Wade will be in charge of the mighty Aussie side.

On paper, the recently crowned ODI World Champions look favourites, with experience on their side, but the Indian team which is filled with stars from IPL, are well aware of the pressure and will be eager to put their talent on display against the quality side like Australia.
