The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) on Thursday renamed Feroz Shah Kotla Cricket Stadium after the former DDCA president Arun Jaitley.
The DDCA also unveiled a new pavilion stand at the stadium and named it after skipper Virat Kohli, who recently became the most successful India captain in Test cricket. The unveiling ceremony was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here.
The entire team was present during the event. DDCA president Rajat Sharma, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju also graced the event.
Raj thanked the board for their continuous support and wished good luck to India's T20 team for their upcoming series.
Earlier on August 22, the committee had announced the shortlisted candidates for various coaching positions in team India.
Sreesanth was banned by the BCCI for a lifetime in August 2013 along with his Rajasthan Royals teammates Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan for indulging in alleged spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) that year.
Gatting also ensured that scheduling a two-week window period for the Olympics is not that difficult for the ICC as the event comes along once in four years.
Raina also revealed that he started to feel discomfort in his knee a couple of years back. The cricketer said the decision to undergo the operation was taken after the pain increased.
Wicket-keeper and batsman MS Dhoni has been rested as well and Rishabh Pant will be keeping the wickets. Pant was named across all three formats while Wriddhiman Saha has found a spot for the two Tests.
The three-member committee is subject to be clear of any conflict of interest, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai confirmed on Friday.
