Unfortunately, the Indian board has reportedly rejected Pakistan's 'conditions' in which the PCB had asked for ICC events to be held in India and also to adopt the same 'hybrid model'. The BCCI's contention is simple - there is no security threat in India and hence no question of accepting such an arrangement... The Pakistan Cricket Board could also go on to lose its hosting rights for the Champions Trophy next year if its stubborn stance on the matter continues. Earlier, the board had also reportedly threatened to withdraw from the Champions Trophy if the ICC decided to shift the tournament to another country. https://youtu.be/i27az8fdK-8?si=eSx_CgkThthEGlIN Host Nations of the ICC events for the T20 World Cup 2022: Australia 2024: USA & West Indies 2026: India & Sri Lanka 2028: Australia & New Zealand 2030: England, Ireland & Scotland ODI World Cup 2023: India* 2027: South Africa, Zimbabwe & Namibia 2031: India & Bangladesh Champions Trophy 2025: Pakistan 2029: India https://twitter.com/Sandeep25122002/status/1863770223578325332 What is the India vs Pakistan controversy? The India vs Pakistan rivalry has become nasty in a heated exchange of words around the issue of the ICC Champions Trophy. The problem started when India decided that it wouldn’t be travelling to Pakistan for the ICC tournament, which is slated to be played in Pakistan in 2025. According to a report by a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson, the board has confirmed to the leading media outlets of India that ICC has conveyed to them regarding India not travelling to Pakistan for the tournament, which is slated to be played from February 19-March 9 next year. The PCB has now requested clarification from the ICC after India’s decision not to travel across the border for the Champions Trophy 2025. Interestingly, India has not toured Pakistan since 2008 due to the strained political reasons between the two nations. The PCB has ruled out a hybrid arrangement as suggested by ICC for the 19th of February to the 9th of March.
