New Delhi: While the stage is all set for World Test Championship (WTC) final between India & Australia in England’s Oval stadium, Team India’s skipper Rohit Sharma’s fitness continues to remain a concern.

Skipper Rohit Sharma is said to have been injured during the practice session at the nets today, reports said. An official confirmation is yet to come but if this piece of news turns to be correct, it may come as huge blow to India’s chances at the Oval clash.

Rohit was reportedly hurt in his thumb during today’s practice session. He got the dressing done but couldn’t regain the ‘right composure’.

Senior sports journalist Boria Majumdar informed via his Twitter handle that Rohit was attended by Team’s physiotherapist Kamalesh.

“Physio was seen applying tape. While Rohit puts his gloves back & goes into nets but then decides against,” he tweeted.

Though, nothing much is known about the ‘level of injury’ but Rohit taking backseat from the practice session sparked wave of speculation on Twitter. It could also have been a precautionary measure by the Skipper to avoid exertion & saving his energy for tomorrow’s big clash but Boria’s tweet led to series of curious fans enquiring about the cricketer’s ‘fitness’.

Early in the morning, a photo of Rohit wearing bandage in right hand went viral on social media. The skipper was seen sporting a bandage in right hand while doing practice session for June 7 epic clash. This sent the cricket fans into a tizzy as bandage are usually worn by cricketers when they are injured.

Lot many cricket lovers took to Twitter, after seeing bandage on Rohit’s arms and enquired about latter’s fitness levels and whether he was ready to go for June 7 WTC final clash at the Oval.

Though there has been announcement either by the cricketer or the cricket board, fans are hopeful of him leading the Men in Blue in WTC final clash against the Aussies.
