India vs Pakistan

New Delhi: The India vs Pakistan tussle has once again turned the heat on the backdoor cricket politics once again. This time the issue is the Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan in 2025. According to a report from the ESPNThe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informed the ICC that the Indian team will not be travelling to Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy.

The Champions Trophy was scheduled to begin on February 19 next year. According to the original plans, three venues in Pakistan were set as the host for the Champions Trophy. However, the Indian Board has reportedly informed the International cricket body that the team won’t be travelling to the neighbouring nation due to what is understood to be advice from the Indian government.

As a response to India’s decision to abandon the plans to travel to Pakistan, PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi remarked:

In recent years, Pakistan has extended numerous good gestures. However, we hope we are not expected to always do so…

The standoff between India and Pakistan took an interesting turn after the hard remarks by the former Pakistani international Rashid Latif who has come down heavily on the Indian team for their last-minute decision.
