Social media flooded with wishes, memes after India registers massive victory against Sri Lanka

New Delhi: India won the second Test match against Sri Lanka and swept the two-match series 2-0 on Monday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. As the victory was announced, fans started sharing their reactions to the match. Many people shared memes to celebrate the win under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

On the second Day/Night Test match, Rohit Sharma-led team beat the Lankan Lions by a mammoth 238 runs margin to clean sweep the Test series.

Notably, Shreyas Iyer was declared man of the match for his two brilliant innings in the match. In the first inning, Iyer notched 92 runs in 98 deliveries. He scored 67 runs in 87 balls.

On the other hand, Rishab Pant got a big smile on his face as he become a player of the seires.

Jasprit Bumrah was again introduced into the attack and the pacer cleaned up the centurion Karunaratne for 107 with the visitors losing their seventh wicket for 204.

Congratulating Rishab Pant, a Twitter user Isha Negi wrote, ”Great improvement in Rishab Pan’s wicket keeping.”

A user namely Paras Jain also shared a funny meme.

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer shared the list of matches India won without losing any match since Rohit Sharma become a full-time Captian. He wished good luck to Sharma in Pushpa style.

Virender Sehwag also expressed his pleasure after the match on Twitter. He commented, Dominating performance by India. Pant and Bumrah….Fire hai Fire. Brilliant knocks from Shreyas in both innings and it was always going to be difficult for Sri Lanka.”

It is important to note that Sri Lanka played 22 Tests in India but it could never win a single Test. So far, they lost 13 matches and nine matches were announced a draw.
