New Delhi: Devdutt Padikkal’s unbeaten 101 and skipper Virat Kohli’s 72 not out helped Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) registered a thumping 10-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match here at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday evening.

RCB skipper Kohli became the first batsman to complete 6,000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Kohli was just 51 runs behind the milestone figure before the match. As soon he hit his 51st run of the innings he became the first batter to do so in the IPL.

This is the RCB’s fourth win on the trot. Kohli after reaching to his first fifty of the season raised his bat towards his dugout and in a heartfelt gesture, he dedicated his knock to his newly born daughter Vamika. He made the hand gesture of holding a baby in the arms after which he blew kisses towards Anushka.

To which Anushka jumped to her feet as she cheered for her husband.

Kohli is leading the IPL highest run-getter chart followed by Suresh Raina (5,448), Shikhar Dhawan (5,428) David Warner (5,384) and Rohit Sharma (5,368).

Fans gushed over Virat’s display of love. “Once a king always a king the way Kohli gave flying kiss to his wife OMG! Very well played RCB. RCB is saal cup le jayegi dekh lena boss (RCB will surely win the IPL trophy this year, just wait and watch),” one commented. “He did it for his daughter,” another wrote.
