New Delhi: Both centurions from the third ODI against Sri Lanka were there for a special post-match chat for BCCI. They were also accompanied by India’s throwdown specialists as the batters credited them for the success in the games. India registered the biggest win by run margins as they beat Sri Lanka by 317 runs, while Virat Kohli scored his second-highest ODI score.
Shubman started the interview by asking Virat about his Player of the Series award, to which he replied that he is happy to start the World Cup like this. Virat went on to congratulate Gill for his first century in India and asked him about his inning.
Talking about his century, Gill said that he could not score big after a good start in the first two games so he decided to go big this time. He added that Virat told him on the field that it was his day to go big and Virat changing the rhythm of the game helped him.
Virat introduced the throwdown specialists Raghu, Nuwan, who is from Sri Lanka, and Daya. Kohli has been vocal about Raghu’s contribution to his performance and talking about the throwers he said that they have provided them with world-class practice like a bowler who bowls at 145-150 kmph. He asked fans to remember their faces and names.
Shubman jokingly added that the three throwers would have a combined of 1200-1500 wickets between them. In the end, Virat thanked Shubman for the interview and said that Gill was nervous before the chat and was preparing his questions.
