New Delhi: In an extraordinary turn of events, Spanish national team skipper Alvaro Morata almost missed an injury scare by millimetres. After Spain defeated France in the semifinals of the match, the entire team went crazy and celebrated the important win. Morata who was wincing in pain was visibly angry at the security guard who was the reason behind the collision.

Alvaro Morata, surrounded by controversies and rumours, was anticipated to not start for La Roja in the semifinals after accumulating yellow cards. However, the entire controversy was put to rest as Anthony Taylor cleared the confusion. Morata played in the match and had a profound impact on the game. Eventually, the Spanish skipper was subbed off in the 76th minute.

What happened in the ground?

Morata who joined the entire squad in celebration was seen grimacing as he struggled with the injury. It was here that the nasty incident unfolded. To stop the attempt of the pitch invader, the security guard tried to grapple the invader with his arms. In the ensuing scuffle, the security guard ultimately collided with Morata.

Spanish head coach De la Fuente remarked, “With Alvaro, we are going to wait until tomorrow.
