New Delhi: A team which was written off from the World Test Championship has roared back dramatically! It is the inspiring story of an Indian team led by a stand-in captain, Jasprit Bumrah who has led from the front. The Indian cricket team, secured a thumping victory by 295 runs at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Monday, November 25.
After conceeding a humongous lead of 533 runs, the Australian team resumed the fourth day’s play at 12-3 with Usman Khawaja (3) and Steve Smith (0) at the crease. Usman Khawaja was dismissed without adding to his overnight tally. Meanwhile, Smith managed to score 17 runs off 60 before being dismissed by Mohammed Siraj in the first session.
Subsequently, Travis Head (89) and Mitchell Marsh (47) tried to stall the eventuality for some time. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj took three wickets each, while Washington Sundar bagged two. Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy removed Mitchell Marsh to get his maiden Test wicket.
