One such hero is Kashmir’s rising cricketing star Amir Hussain Lone, who is motivating millions by achieving the unachievable & going against all the odds to script the history of his success.
This specially abled cricketer, who is currently garnering limelight for his exceptional capabilities, hails from Kashmir’s Waghama Bijbeehara, Anantnag, and has been fond of cricket ever since childhood.
Who is Amir Hussain Lone?
Aamir, a Kashmir-based Para cricketer, lost both his arms in a life-changing tragic accident that took place in his family’s bandsaw mill when he was just 8 years old.
However, despite the unfortunate incident, his self-belief, positive spirit & inspiration from his grandmother made him face the challenges with bravery and motivated him to keep chasing the goals without stopping.
Eventually, the specially-abled cricketer’s hard work and love for cricket paid off when one of his sports teachers recognized the batter’s talent and brought him to Para Cricket.
From there, Amir never looked back and kept working on improving himself with each passing day. Today he stands in the field as the captain of Jammu & Kashmir’s Para cricket team and serves as an inspiration for many who dream of making their career in this sport of Bat and Ball.

As Amir lost his hands in an unfortunate incident in childhood, he now uses his feet to hold and throw the ball while bowling and bats by holding the cricket bat in between his neck and shoulder.
Cricketing legends’ praises for Amir
Amir’s heroic efforts in playing cricket have attracted praise from several big names in the cricket world including Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Ashish Nehra who have applauded him for his positive spirit and extraordinary talent.
Back in 2016, Ashish Nehra even invited Aamir to Mumbai to enjoy the ICC T20 World Cup’s semi-final encounter between India and West Indies in Wankhede. Besides that, Amir has also been lucky enough to visit Bangladesh as a part of the international para-cricket team.
Notably, his exceptional talent has not only received acknowledgment from cricketers but has also earned him a fan from Bollywood in the form of actor Vicky Kaushal, who recently showed willingness to star in the batters’ biopic. Speaking about the same, Vicky said, “I will consider myself fortunate if I get a chance to play Amir’s character in a movie.”
