    Keeping the spirit of optimism high amidst the ongoing pandemic situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said major changes are taking place around the world and there are several opportunities available for the growth of entrepreneurship and employment.

    Addressing Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University’s (PDPU) students virually during convocation ceremony, PM Modi said, “Today you are entering the industry at a time when due to pandemic, major changes are also taking place in the energy sector around the whole world. At this time, there are many opportunities for the growth of entrepreneurship and employment.”

    While congratulating the students he said: “I am confident, that through your skills, talent and professionalism you will emerge from the situation and infuse power into the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission.”

    On the issue of carbon emission, PM Modi said, “Today, we are moving forward with the goal of reducing the country’s carbon footprint by 30-35 per cent. Efforts are being made to increase the use of natural gas for energy needs by four times in current decade.”

    Further encouraging the student PM Modi said, “It is not an easy thing to graduate at a time when the world is facing such a big crisis. But your abilities are much bigger than these challenges.”

    He said, “It is not that successful people do not face problems, but he who accepts challenges, confronts them, defeats them, solves problems, eventually succeeds.”

    New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the family members of brothers Mahesh and Naresh Kanodia, who passed away recently, on Friday. The Prime Minister offered his tributes to the brothers and also spoke with the family members at their residence.

    Singer and former parliamentarian Mahesh Kanodia (83) passed away on October 25 at his residence in Gandhinagar, following a prolonged illness.  His brother and veteran actor Naresh died the following Tuesday.

    Condoling the demise of the talented duo, who had made their mark in the Gujarati film industry, the Prime Minister had then said, “In a span of two days, we have lost both Maheshbhai and Nareshbhai Kanodia. Their contributions to the world of culture, especially popularising Gujarati songs, music and theatre will never be forgotten. They also worked hard to serve society and empower the downtrodden.”

    The PM had earlier paid tribute to former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel, who passed away at a city hospital on Thursday, after reaching Ahmedabad.

    PM Modi is on a two-day visit to his home state, the first time since the COVID-19 outbreak and the subsequent lockdown in March, to mark Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, celebrating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

    He is scheduled to launch a number of projects, including a seaplane service between Kevadiya and Ahmedabad.

    As per the official website of the Prime Minister, he is scheduled to flag off Ekta Cruise Service to the Statue of Unity and inaugurate Ekta Mall and Children Nutrition Park there. He will also unveil the Statue of Unity website in all UN official languages and the Kevadia App at the Unity Glow Garden.

    New Delhi: Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani has taken one more people-centric decision to provide food grains to additional 10 lakh families of the state at concessional rates under the National Food Security Act-NFSA.

    Mr. Rupani has taken this decision keeping in mind the benefit of the people of the state and individuals can get food grains at concessional rates.

    As a result of this people-centric decision by CM about 50 lakh people will be able to get food grains at a concessional rate every month. Not only this, these 50 lakh people will also get all the benefits of NFSA.

    As per the decision made by CM such beneficiaries will receive a total of 5 kg food grains including Two rupees per kg of wheat and three rupees per kg of rice from government approved fair price shops- Pandit Deendayal Grahak Bhandar’s.

    During the prevailing situation in the entire state, 50 per cent of the total population i.e. more than three and a half crore people are being provided food grains at concessional rates every month under NFSA.

    This people-centric decision of the CM will benefit 50 lakh people from 10 lakh families under NFSA. He expressed his sympathy to cover all the disabled persons of the state, Ganga Swarupa mothers and sisters, old age pensioners under this scheme.

    Rupani has also taken sensitive decisions for the first time in history and has decided that rickshaw drivers, drivers of Loading-Mini Tempo, daily earners living in towns and villages will also be given food grains at concessional rates.

    Chief Minister, while deciding to cover all the disabled beneficiaries of the state under NFSA, also decided that any of the registered disabled beneficiaries availing various schemes of Central as well State Government like Divyang Pension Equipment-Assistance, ST Bus Pass would also be included in NFSA.

    Individuals with disabilities living in disability welfare institutions recognized by the State Department of Social Security will be given a personal NFSA card. Ganga Swarupa mothers and sisters from State Government recognized institutions will be benefited under NFSA.

    The CM has also decided to provide food grains at a concessional rate to the senior citizens who are getting pension from the Central- State Government under the old age pension scheme.

    The CM has also taken the people-centric approach of raising the age limit for getting food grains under NFSA to 60 years instead of 65 years for senior citizens to benefit such senior citizens. The CM has shown that the benefit of this scheme will also be given to the senior citizens living in the institutions-old age homes recognized by the state government.

    Chief Minister has also instructed to benefit the BPL families who are not included in the NFSA of the state to avail the benefits of the Food Security Act.

    Apart from this, he has decided to cover the construction workers registered with Gujarat Construction Workers Welfare Board in the NFSA scheme.

    It is worth mentioning here that GoG has distributed 12.50 lakh metric tonnes of food grains free of cost from April to June in COVID Pandemic.

    New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday distributed electric chalks to as many as 200 potter families of Gandhinagar under the ‘Kumhar Sashaktikaran Yojana’ via videoconferencing.

    Shah distributed the electric potter wheels in his Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, with an aim to empower them and help them contribute in India’s quest to become ‘Atmanirbhar’ (self-reliant).

    “The top priority of the government is to empower the poor and deprived sections of the society and connect them with the mainstream. In this connection, I distributed electric-powered chalks to 200 potter families under the ‘Potter Empowerment Scheme’ in Gandhinagar,” the minister tweeted.

    In another tweet, he said this scheme is an unprecedented initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aiming at reviving the traditional art of the country.

    “These potters have been trained with the help of KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission); and several other tools were also distributed among them. This will make their operations easier, and increase their production as well as revenue,” he tweeted.

    Shah said the initiative would go a long way in strengthening the marginalised potters community by incorporating technology to improve productivity and earning while also reviving the traditional art of pottery.

    Gujarat’s Raksha Shakti University gets LS approval for upgrade as Institute of national importance

    New Delhi: Minister of State for Home Department Mr. Pradipsinh Jadeja said Raksha Shakti University (RSU) located at Lawad in Dahegam of Gandhinagar, Gujarat has now been upgraded as Rashtriya Raksha University. It has also been accorded the status of ‘Institute of National Importance’ as a result of the state government’s proactive efforts. He added that the Raksha Shakti University was established in 2009 by the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and present Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in order to maintain the law and order situation in the state as well to increase the scope of educational opportunities in this field.

    Union Minister of State for Home G. Kishan Reddy introduced this historic bill in the Lok Sabha. With the passing of this bill in the Lok Sabha today, it is a day to cherish and a proud moment for all Gujarati’s.

    Jadeja further added that Union Minister of State for Home Mr. G. Kishan Reddy introduced the Rashtriya Raksha University Bill 2020 in the Lok Sabha and briefed the members of the Lok Sabha on the importance of having a dedicated educational and research institute for the police forces and paramilitary security forces of several states.

This University will continue to make progress under the visionary leadership of Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

    With the passing of the Rashtriya Raksha University Bill by the Lok Sabha, India has moved towards strengthening the broader framework of ‘Training-Research-Extension-Education (Tree)’ for the country’s police and security forces.

Kishan Reddyon the passing of Rashtriya Raksha University Bill 2020 in the Lok Sabha.With this, Raksha Shakti University will get the status of Central University as well as enhance educational opportunities in this field and also create more employment opportunities for the youth.

    New Delhi: Minister of State for Home Affairs of Gujarat Mr. Pradeep sinh Jadeja thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their efforts to grant the status of national importance to Gujarat Forensic Sciences University (GFSU).

    Mr. Jadeja said, “Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi had established the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University during his days as the Chief Minister of Gujarat to promote Forensic Sciences in India and the world. Further, the aim was to fill the shortage of experts in this field. The university, since then, has progressed leaps and bounds.”

    The Lok Sabha approved the bill, presented by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Mr. G. Kishan Reddy, to grant GFSU the status of national importance. The university will now be known as the National Forensic Sciences University, fully funded by the Central Government. The campus at Gandhinagar will be its main campus.

    Mr. Jadeja added that the state government under Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani has undertaken a number of initiatives to ensure the safety of the people. The university will play an important role for new research and development in security and its related areas for India and the world.

    The status of national importance will enable various experts of the said field to reap benefits of the research facilities and technology at the university.

    The university specialises in research and consultancy in forensic sciences and its related fields like cyber-crime, digital forensics, behavioural science etc. The university, within its short span of 10 years, has trained more than 10,000 police officers, experts of forensic sciences, people in security, etc from India and the world.

    GFSU has signed MOUs with 58 countries for facilitating research, training and establishment of laboratories. The university has also received proposals to establish off-shore campuses in various countries like Myanmar, Trinidad & Tobago, Uganda, Rwanda, Maldives, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh.

    The university will now be able to establish its campuses in India and the world. It will also enable the university to avail various consultancy projects, and research grants from various national and international organisations in a hassle-free manner.

    Above all, it will highlight Gujarat on the global map for research and development in the field of forensic sciences.

    New Delhi: Guajrt Chief Minister Vijay Rupani laid e-foundation stone of ambitious 24/7 water supply project for Gandhinagar city today on the 70th birthday of Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi in a presence of Union Home Minister Amitbhai Shah through video conference from New Delhi. This ambitious project will take shape at a cost of Rs.229 crore and the citizens of Gandhinagar will be able to get 24 hours pure drinking water through taps.

    Speaking on the occasion Home Minister Amitbhai Shah congratulated the Government of Gujarat for this project which is glorious for Gujarat. He said that in this project, the daily water requirement of the citizens of Gandhinagar is considered to be 150 liters which is sufficient. Adequate planning has been done in this scheme to meet the water requirement as the population grows.

    Vijaybhai Rupani said that there was a time twenty five to thirty years ago when there was a severe shortage of water in Gujarat but in the last two decades Gujarat has become a water surplus state from a water deficit. The NITI Aayog has also ranked Gujarat first in the Best Composite Water Management Index.

    He said that Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi has set a target to provide clean drinking water to every family by tap in the country by the year 2024 but Gujarat has planned in advance and Gujarat has determined to achieve target two years earlier i.e. by 2022.

    The Chief Minister said that Gujarat has started a direct battle against Corona with the mantra of ‘Corona Harshe, Gujarat Jitshe’. In this critical time, instead of sitting idly by, Gujarat is determined to continue daily activities and development works. During these four months of Corona transmission, Gujarat has completed lay e-foundation stone and e-groundbreaking of project works worth Rs.7,655 crore across the state, and e-dedication of Rs.2,280 crore project works.

    Gandhinagar:  Seven trainee IPS officers of 2019 batch allotted to Gujarat paid  courtesy visit to Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani in Gandhinagar. These trainee IPS officers of 2019 batch are currently under training at Karai Police Academy.

    From September 1, they will be appointed to serve as probationary officer in Bharuch, Junagadh, Morbi, Kheda, Vadodara Rural, Ahmedabad Rural and Bhavnagar districts.

    Mentioning that most of these trainee IPS officers have engineering degree holders, the Chief Minister said that Gujarat has made its name as a “modern police force” by making maximum use of technology in the police force and these young officers can also contribute to the state by their knowledge and skills.

    “Two of Gujarat MLAs voluntarily gave their resignation yesterday evening. I have investigated the matter, they have resigned with their own will,” said Trivedi while speaking to the reporters.

    The elections to fill the pending 18 Rajya Sabha seats from seven states, including four Rajya Sabha seats in Gujarat, will be held on June 19. (ANI)
